Though Jane’s actions had driven Kiara to avoid the White family since returning from her trip, she had been preoccupied with handling the aftermath. It was possible that her uncle and Ariana were still unaware that Jane had nearly kidnapped her. However, her disappearance couldn’t remain hidden for long.
Kiara suspected that Ariana and her uncle had likely found out by now.
Not daring to delay any further, she hurriedly borrowed the butler’s phone to call Ariana.
The call connected almost instantly.
Even though the number was unfamiliar, Ariana answered immediately. Her voice was soft as she said, “Hello?” though inwardly, she clung to the hope that it was Kiara—even a call from “kidnappers” would have been better than silence.
Fortunately, her prayers were answered.
Kiara’s voice came through the receiver, cautious and tentative. “Sister Ariana, it’s me.”
Ariana’s breath hitched. Her tone shifted instantly, laced with urgency and concern. “Kiara? Tell me where you are right now.”
“Don’t worry about me, Sister Ariana… I’m fine. I’m at… a friend’s place. I’ll be back in a couple of days.” Hearing Ariana’s familiar voice after so long brought a lump to Kiara’s throat. She could sense the anxiety and worry underlying Ariana’s words.
Though she felt a twinge of guilt for causing trouble for Ariana and her uncle, the warmth of being cared for still spread through her chest like a gentle wave.
But Ariana’s voice turned icy. “What friend’s house? And what exactly happened these past few days? If everything was fine, why didn’t you call earlier? Do you have any idea how worried Dad and I have been? Give me the address—I’m coming to get you right now.”
Her tone carried a mix of lingering fear from the days of uncertainty and a hint of reprimand.
Kiara immediately felt her courage waver.
She stammered hesitantly, "Could I... tell you about this another day, Sister Ariana?"
Ariana fell silent, but she didn’t press further, maintaining her composed demeanor as she said, "Where are you right now? I don’t need explanations—just give me the address."
Kiara knew she had truly worried Ariana and her uncle this time.
Hearing the slight chill in her cousin’s voice, Kiara quietly relayed her location. Since she wasn’t entirely sure of the exact address, she had to ask a servant before passing the full details to Ariana. Upon hearing it, Ariana’s expression grew pensive.
If her guess was correct, that address belonged to a rather upscale villa district in Country M.
Though she had no idea how Kiara had ended up there—or what exactly had happened during this time—the immediate priority was to bring her back safely.
Without further discussion, Ariana hung up and instructed the butler to book an international flight. She then called her father to reassure him that Kiara was safe and that she would bring her home. Upon hearing the news, Gilbert let out a sigh of relief.
He insisted on accompanying her, but Ariana declined, saying she could handle it alone. Reluctantly, Gilbert agreed. As long as Kiara was safe, his mind was at ease.
...
Though Ariana was still completely in the dark about the situation, one thing was undeniable: Kiara was unharmed.
And as long as she was safe, everything else could be dealt with.
