Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 781

"No, thank you." Kiara's response was firm. She knew that someone who genuinely despised you wouldn't suddenly turn kind. If they appeared to be nice, it was either a calculated move or served some hidden purpose. Although Kiara hadn't been working at the White Corporation for long, being frequently mentored by Ariana had gradually stripped away her naivety, maturing her considerably.

Had these words been spoken to Kiara in the past, they might have swayed her. But not anymore.

Whether Jane was being sincere or not, and whether it was all just a misunderstanding, Kiara no longer cared to decipher. Her heart had long held no expectation for Jane, so the truth of the matter held no weight for her now. She met Jane's gaze with serene detachment and continued, "Though we share the same blood, perhaps it's fate's design that we were never meant to be sisters. I don't wish to dwell on the past anymore. I don't need your help. If you truly mean well for me," she said, her voice steady, "then the best thing you can do is stay out of my life. I'm content with how things are now."

With that, Kiara rose from her seat.

There was no trace of inner conflict in her eyes—only profound relief, as if a heavy burden had finally been lifted. Without a second glance at Jane's visibly darkened expression, she calmly paid for her coffee at the counter and walked away.

Left alone at the table, Jane sat rigidly, her face a mask of fury. Her fingers clenched into white-knuckled fists, and the venom in her eyes threatened to spill over. At that moment, her hatred for the White family burned at its peak. She had never liked her younger sister, but that didn't mean she could tolerate Kiara's allegiance lying with outsiders—betraying her own flesh and blood, even threatening her, Jane, who was supposed to be her only family.

*She* was the one who could discard Kiara, who could loathe her. But for Kiara to reject *her*? That was an insult Jane's pride could not endure. It was like a possession she had cast aside: she could treat it as garbage, but if someone else dared to take it, the humiliation of that violation was entirely different.

"Ha..." Jane let out a cold sneer. She would make sure that little bi*ch Kiara realized just how wrong her decision was.

...

Inside the Stone family villa.

The private physician was conducting his daily examination of Grace. Ariana stood nearby, watching her daughter with careful concern. Only after the doctor finished did she speak up. "How is Gracie doing?"

The physician offered Ariana a reassuring smile. "Madam, her condition is very stable. There's nothing significant to worry about. We just need to continue with the current regimen of care."

Hearing this, Ariana finally allowed herself to relax slightly.

She nodded, a trace of genuine gratitude softening her features. "Thank you for your diligent care during this time." She could tell the doctor was truly dedicated. Seeing her daughter's visible improvement day by day filled Ariana with immense relief.

The doctor shook his head humbly. "It's my duty."

The Stone family paid him handsomely for his services; he had to earn that trust. Overall, he was quite satisfied with this position. Ariana had a good temperament, unlike some other wealthy matrons who put on lofty airs. Mr. Stone, though stern-faced, had never made things difficult for him.

And the salary was exceptionally generous.

Naturally, he was motivated to do his utmost.

"However, we must still be very careful to prevent any serious falls or undue stress," he continued. "She's still young. As she grows older, her constitution will strengthen considerably. But before she reaches adulthood, she will likely remain more fragile than her peers." This was unavoidable.

There had been some damage to the heart, after all.

Thankfully, this was the 22nd century. If this had happened in ancient times, she probably wouldn't have survived to adulthood and would have been dependent on medicine her whole life.

A flicker of pain and sorrow passed through Ariana's eyes at his words. Yet, she maintained a polite, strained smile. "I understand. Thank you, Doctor."

Since his duties were complete, there was no reason for him to stay any longer.

The price is only 1/4 of what others charge
