Janie froze in place.
Her eyes widened as the light in them instantly died, replaced by pure bewilderment.
She stared blankly at Nora, her brain completely unable to process the words she had just heard.
"Nora..."
Janie twitched her bandaged lips, trying to force out an awful smile.
"What are you talking about... Are you joking? Why would Mr. Pierce make a condition like that? I'm the victim here. Giselle came to ruin our event first, and those bodyguards beat me half to death... I didn't do anything wrong, why do I have to leave?"
"Janie, I'm so sorry."
Tears streamed down Nora's face, her voice choked with sobs.
"Julian said that as long as you remain in the city, Gideon's total assault on the studio will never end."
That terrible smile on Janie's face instantly froze.
Looking at Nora's tears, she finally realized this wasn't a joke.
The Pierce family had truly laid down this brutal condition. Their financial salvation required her entire career and future as a blood sacrifice.
Why?
Janie couldn't accept this reality.
She hadn't done anything wrong. Why was she the one being forced out of the industry and exiled from the city?
A full minute passed before Janie found her voice.

Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
