"I did it for you, Nora! When I saw that arrogant woman ripping up your sketches and bullying you, I couldn't hold back! I hit her for you! You can't just abandon me..."
"If it wasn't for you, why would a lowly assistant like me ever provoke someone that powerful? I didn't even know who Giselle was! Nora, you can't just throw me away like a bargaining chip!"
Nora let her grip her sleeves. Every single word was a blade to the heart. Every accusation hammered against her conscience.
She was Mrs. Hayes, yet her husband had just ordered this girl slapped a hundred times in front of the entire studio for another woman. She was the Xavier heiress, yet her family was ready to sacrifice her at a moment's notice to appease the Hayes family's wrath.
She wore these grand titles, yet she lacked the power to protect a single, ordinary girl.
"Janie, I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."
Nora could only repeat the words mechanically as her tears broke free, streaming down her cheeks.
"I don't want your apologies! I want to stay in the city!"
Janie was becoming hysterical, drawing weird looks from the other customers, but she couldn't care less.
"Nora, please go beg Mr. Hayes! You're his wife! If you beg him, or if you agree to whatever he wants, he'll definitely show mercy..."
"He's so powerful. Just one word from him and all those bodyguards and blacklists will vanish! Married couples fight all the time, it'll blow over in a few days... Just go beg him! What about Mr. Pierce? Nora, go beg Julian!"
"Julian is always so gentle with you. He's willing to hand over hundreds of millions of dollars! If you just ask him, if you just beg him nicely, he'll definitely agree to let me stay! If he likes you, he'll listen to you!"
Nora shook her head. Corporate transactions never dealt in sentiment.
Since Julian had made this his very first condition, it meant he absolutely refused to inherit any hidden risks tied to The Hayes Group.
Releasing Nora's sleeve, her legs gave out, almost collapsing to the floor right in front of Nora in broad daylight.
"Janie!"
Nora cried out sharply.
Right before Janie could hit the ground, Nora lunged forward, grabbing the girl's shoulders with every ounce of her strength, forcefully hauling her back up.
"Don't do this, Janie, please don't do this!"
Nora's voice broke into a desperate sob.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
