The chilling nightmares deep in her mind, filled with storms, freefalls, and accusations, slowly receded amid his constant, soothing voice.
She felt as if she had fallen into a broad, warm embrace.
That embrace blocked out the biting sea breeze of the South Mountain Peninsula, shielding her from all the vicious curses and cold iron pipes.
The owner of the embrace did not let go, tirelessly responding in a low murmur by her ear.
"Don't be afraid... don't be afraid... I'm right here..."
In the two long years of numbness, it was the very first time Nora had felt such a grounding warmth in her sleep.
She unconsciously shrank toward that warm source, though the tears at the corners of her eyes still slid down unceasingly, dampening the front of the man's shirt.
By the time the storm outside finally ceased, the coastal dawn broke through the clouds, spilling pale gold morning light across the entirety of The Oceanside Villa.
Nora's long eyelashes fluttered slightly, and then she slowly, with some effort, opened her eyes.
She twitched her fingertips, immediately realizing that her right hand was being tightly encased within a large, broad palm.
Gideon was still sitting on the edge of the bed; his eyes were bloodshot from staying up all night, radiating obvious exhaustion and haggardness.
At the moment he saw Nora wake up, the heavy gloom in Gideon's eyes instantly vanished, replaced by an irrepressible surge of ecstasy and relief.
"Nora, you're awake?"
Gideon's voice was incredibly hoarse, and a faint hint of moisture even touched the corners of his eyes.
He hurriedly leaned over, reaching out to press the back of his hand against Nora's forehead. Only after confirming her temperature had stabilized did the heart that had been suspended all night finally drop back into his chest.
"The fever broke... it finally broke."
A gentle smile tugged at the corners of the man's lips, and even the light in his eyes brightened. "Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere? Are you still dizzy? Do you want some warm water?"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
