During the severe hemorrhage, had she called his name?
Had she ever hoped he would suddenly appear, pull her into his embrace, and tell her not to be afraid?
But he wasn't there.
Not only was he absent, he was completely oblivious to the fact that it had even happened.
Not only was he not by her side, but he had actually become the catalyst that pushed her into the abyss.
He recalled what Nora had looked like recently.
Her pale, bloodless cheeks, her frame so thin it seemed it could snap in half, the constant freezing temperature of her palms.
And every time she looked at him, those eyes were like dead wells, utterly devoid of any emotional fluctuation.
It turned out that during all those days and nights he knew nothing about, she had shouldered the agonizing loss of her child alone. She endured massive physical destruction, swallowing all her blood and tears into her own stomach.
All alone, dragging her crippled hands, she had toughed it out in this remote little town through those endless, grueling days of poor circulation and zero postpartum care.
He had always thought that as long as he found the best doctors to heal her hands, as long as he spent the rest of his life using all his patience to compensate and please her, he could erase the trauma in her heart.
As long as he offered her the best things in the world, pouring all his patience and gentleness upon her, she would eventually smile at him again.
He had even silently sworn to himself that he would make it all up to her in the future, doubly compensating for all the pampering she had missed out on.
All his self-righteous compensation seemed so laughable and cheap in the face of this blood-soaked life.
Just what exactly had he done?
"Mr. Hayes..."
Dr. Scott watched Gideon's swaying figure and spoke up boldly, "Are... are you alright?"
Gideon slowly covered his face with his hands.
Immense regret and self-blame morphed into invisible blades, carving his soul into a thousand bloody pieces.
He prided himself on being in control of everything, yet he hadn't even known he had a child of his own flesh and blood. He couldn't even protect his own woman and baby.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
