Nora froze in place.
The air around her seemed to stop flowing in that very second.
The papers in Gideon's hand were unmistakably the comprehensive medical report the doctor had just issued.
He knew.
He knew about the life that had once existed, only to quietly slip away in a pool of blood.
That bloody, gaping wound she had buried deep in her heart, the one she didn't even dare touch, had been torn open without warning, exposed to the blinding sunlight.
Nora looked at the man before her, his eyes bloodshot and his face twisted in remorse, as a surge of uncontrollable, searing red began to burn in the depths of her own eyes.
Large, scalding tears welled up, but she bit her jaw tight, refusing to let them fall.
The grievances she had locked away in the deepest recesses of her memory, layered in coldness and numbness, broke through every dam of reason like a raging flood, surging frantically through her veins and bones.
Why should she have told him? What right did she have to tell him?
A decade of her youth. Seven years of chasing after him.
She had taken the best years of a woman's life and offered them to Gideon without holding a single thing back.
For him, she had given up the olive branch extended by Professor Arthur Lawrence. She had abandoned her chance to shine in the world of jewelry design.
She had willingly trapped herself within the four square walls of the Hayes family estate, learning to cook and cater to his every single preference.
She remembered all his dietary restrictions, the exact time he needed to take his medicine when his stomach pains flared up, and every minuscule habit he had.
She had loved him with everything she had.
And then what?
Then, Giselle Hayes died.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
