Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 178

It was the first time they’d seen each other since their huge fight. Lottie froze for a second, then shot Rebecca a look sharp enough to cut glass. Rebecca didn’t even flinch. She just stared straight ahead, calm and collected, acting as if Lottie didn’t exist. That made Lottie even angrier.

Right then, Sonja stepped out from her cubicle. She spotted Rebecca, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and flashed a sly smile. “Looks like we meet again.”

Rebecca didn’t bother to reply.

Lottie scoffed. “What are you so proud of? Sure, you won that arbitration last time, but no one wins forever. You’ll lose one day, just wait and see.”

Rebecca glanced over, cool and dismissive. “Sorry to disappoint, but I just beat you again today.”

Lottie blinked, not sure she’d heard right. “What do you mean, you beat us again?”

She turned to Sonja, who looked like she’d just swallowed something sour.

Sonja clenched her jaw and muttered, “I don’t know what she’s talking about. Let’s just go. Ignore her.”

Rebecca gave her a cold warning. “You know exactly what I mean. You can’t keep playing games without getting caught. Sooner or later, the truth will come out.”

Sonja’s back went ramrod straight. Exposed? Did Rebecca know something? No, that couldn’t be. She probably meant Scott. Yes, that had to be it. Luckily, Scott had taken the fall for everything.

“Lottie, let’s go.”

Lottie stomped her foot. “Sonja, you’re too nice. Didn’t you see the way she looked at us? We should wipe that smug look right off her face.”

Sonja took a deep breath, then forced a smile. “I don’t like fighting with people. Besides, we’ve got something important tonight. Don’t let those who doesn’t matter mess things up.”

Lottie remembered the client waiting upstairs and hesitated.

“What’s going on?” Sonja asked, reaching for her hand.

Lottie looked down, uneasy. “Sonja, is it Drew again? I really don’t want to see him.”

And now, Sonja wanted her to go again. Fear twisted in Lottie’s stomach and she took another step back.

“I’m sorry, Sonja. Just seeing Drew makes me feel sick. I can’t go up there.”

Sonja smiled as if nothing was wrong. “It’s not Drew. It’s a friend of mine. He’s really good-looking and super interested in our products.”

“Really?”

“Of course. Have I ever lied to you?”

Lottie let out a shaky breath, finally relaxing. “Okay, then.”

She followed Sonja down the hall. Sonja walked ahead, a sly little smile tugging at her red lips.

When they reached the private room, Sonja made the introductions. “This is my good friend Will, and this is my assistant, Lottie.”
