At the same time, in two neighboring hotels, the new product launches for Sunforge Tech and NovaStack Cloud were kicking off.
NovaStack Cloud’s event was a whole different vibe. The entire hall was packed, not a single empty seat in sight. As soon as the new product flashed up on the big screen, the crowd was clearly wowed.
“This is exactly what we’ve been looking for. We would like to preorder right now!”
“With how tough the market is these days, NovaStack Cloud’s new product could seriously double our company’s profits this year!”
“I know, right? This is a total game changer!”
The room buzzed with excitement as clients started talking over each other and making preorders. Sonja watched it all, her eyes shining with pride.
She checked the livestream feed, grinning as the follower count shot up and the chat exploded with comments. Sure, she knew most of those followers were paid for, but seeing the numbers climb was still satisfying—especially since Sunforge Tech’s livestream barely had enough viewers to count on one hand. Sonja couldn’t help but smile.
She leaned over to Bruce and lowered her voice. “People are loving it. Some of them want to order after just hearing about our new features.”
Bruce’s expression softened. “I noticed. This is all because of your hard work.”
Sonja perked up, proud. “Yeah, I’ve been working late so much I basically live here. So, how are you planning to thank me? And don’t try to fob me off with a vacation.”
“What do you want?” Bruce asked.
Sonja’s eyes sparkled as she thought about it. “My mom and your mom have been talking. Once the launch is over, how about our families meet up? What do you think?”
A meeting to talk about getting engaged.
Bruce got her drift right away. At first, he’d thought it was too soon. They’d only reconnected a few months ago, and getting engaged already felt a little rushed. If he was honest, a big part of it was that he still wasn’t over someone else.
But Sonja had done so much for the company lately, and today’s event was going really well. He couldn’t disappoint her.
Now, though, they seemed to be bailing at the last minute.
“It’s whatever. If they don’t want to come, that’s their loss. I’ll have someone else take their spot during the thank-you segment. There’s no shortage of clients wanting the spotlight,” Sonja said, brushing it off.
Bruce let out a quiet sigh.
At this point, there wasn’t much else to do.
Meanwhile, over at Sunforge Tech’s event.
The crowd was sparse, and hardly anyone was watching the livestream. Still, Rebecca stood up straight and dove into her presentation with all the energy she could muster.
She started by thanking the loyal audience members, both in person and online. She even cracked a joke, saying the people who showed up today were in for a treat—because Sunforge Tech’s big surprise was coming up next, and it was going to blow everyone away.

The ending seems abrupt. Is it like a cliffhanger? I was expecting more. A lot of questions are unanswered....
Why is the story tagged as complete when I think the chapters are incomplete and it hasn’t ended yet?...
