Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 258

Kelley tapped open her phone and scrolled straight to the photos she had been saving for just this moment. She’d snapped them secretly from her car last time. In the pictures, Stephen had his arm wrapped around Rebecca’s waist, and she was looking down, cheeks tinged pink. The air between them practically sparkled. There was no way anyone would buy that they were just coworkers.

Chelsey stared in shock, piecing things together. No wonder Stephen kept dodging all the blind dates she lined up for him. He already had someone in his heart. But if Kelley was right, this girl was nothing but trouble.

On the surface, though, Chelsey kept her cool. She nodded, her tone calm. “Alright. Thank you for letting me know, Mrs. Lamont.”

Kelley looked at her, confused. “You’re not going to do anything? I also heard that Rebecca was meeting up with Mr. Duncan alone, even before she broke up with my son. The two of them…”

“Mrs. Lamont.” Chelsey cut her off, her voice steady and cold. “Are you trying to say my son was involved with someone else’s girlfriend?”

Kelley slapped a hand over her mouth. “No, absolutely not! I must have gotten it wrong.”

Chelsey didn’t push further. “It’s getting late. We’re far from the city, you should head back.”

“Of course.” Kelley hurried out of the car. “I won’t keep you any longer. Goodnight.”

Once the door closed and she was alone, Chelsey sat quietly for a moment, thinking. Then she picked up her phone and dialed her daughter.

“Cindy, I heard your brother is interested in this girl. Is that true?”

Cindy was silent, caught off guard. “I haven’t heard anything.”

She thought of Stephen and Rebecca and couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed. They would have made a great couple.
