Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 260

Lottie’s face shifted from pale to flushed, her emotions flickering across her features. Madison wasn’t wrong. The baby growing inside her wasn’t Morris’. But Lottie had nowhere else to turn. Even if she risked being exposed, this was her only shot. If she didn’t try, she’d be stuck marrying that old, sleazy man who made her skin crawl. No way was she letting that happen.

She took a steadying breath, forcing herself to think clearly. She and Morris had slept together, and everyone knew Morris was a player. He’d been with more girls than anyone could count. Accidental pregnancies couldn’t be a surprise for him. Madison was just trying to scare her off, hoping she’d give up. Sure, they could check the baby’s DNA later with a test, but that was a problem for another day. For now, she needed to push the Terry family to let her marry Morris. Once they got the marriage certificate, even if the truth came out, she wouldn’t care. Worst case, they split up, and with the Terry family’s fortune, she’d walk away with enough money to be comfortable for the rest of her life.

With that in mind, Lottie straightened up, her confidence flickering back. She stared Madison down, meeting her glare head-on.

“If you don’t believe me, ask your son yourself. Ask him if we fucked, and if he bothered with a condom.”

Madison’s eyebrow twitched. She slammed her mug on the table, the sound sharp in the quiet room. Where did this shameless girl come from, saying things like that so bluntly? Madison’s dislike for Lottie only grew.

As angry as she was, deep down, Madison knew Lottie was probably telling the truth. She knew her own son better than anyone. This wasn’t the first time she’d cleaned up after him. Twice before, girls had shown up pregnant, and both times, the baby turned out to be Morris’. Useless boy. Fooling around was bad enough, but getting girls pregnant was another level of trouble.

Madison crossed her arms and leaned back, looking at Lottie like she was something stuck to the bottom of her shoe.

“Alright, let’s hear it. How much do you want?”

It always came down to money. Girls from small families never aimed too high. Whatever number Lottie named, Madison could treat it as charity and be done with it.

But Lottie didn’t even hesitate.

“I don’t want your money. I just don’t want my child to grow up without a father. All I want is for you to let me marry Morris.”

For a split second, Madison thought the girl finally had some sense. But that last sentence almost made her laugh out loud. Was she serious?

“You? Marry Morris? Who do you think you are?”

Lottie clenched her jaw, refusing to back down.
