Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 262

Rush hour traffic was crawling, cars packed close as everyone tried to get home. Rebecca was just waiting for her chance to change lanes when she felt a jolt from behind. Someone had rear-ended her. She pulled over, heart beating a little quicker, and got out to check the damage.

As she walked toward the other car, the back door opened, and out stepped Lottie. That was the last person Rebecca expected to see. The driver was a man Rebecca didn’t recognize, looking nervous and apologetic, almost shrinking into himself.

“It’s your fault,” Rebecca told him, pointing at the dent on her bumper. “I’m calling the traffic police.”

The driver nodded over and over. “Yes, it’s our fault. We’ll take responsibility. I’m sorry.”

But Lottie rolled her eyes and cut in. “Seriously? You’re calling the cops over this? What a waste of time. It’s just a scratch on your Mercedes. My Maybach is way more expensive, and you don’t see me throwing a fit.”

Rebecca glanced at the Maybach. It was brand new, top of the line, definitely impressive. She didn’t bother arguing, just pulled out her phone. “Let’s leave it to the police.”

Lottie bristled. She was annoyed at being ignored. She was about to marry Morris, basically set to become a rich society wife, while Rebecca was still working for a living. Their paths couldn’t be more different, and Lottie clearly wanted that known.

All those times people had praised Rebecca and looked down on Lottie—they’d regret it soon enough.

Suddenly, Lottie snatched the phone from Rebecca’s hand. “I don’t feel well. I’m not standing out here waiting for the police. Tell me what you want. I’ll pay.”

Rebecca’s eyes dropped to Lottie’s stomach, remembering when she’d seen her at the hospital with a slight bump. Was she…?

“That’s right, I’m pregnant,” Lottie said, not bothering to hide her satisfaction. “And I’m marrying into a wealthy family very soon.”
