Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 296

Cody clenched his jaw. “For half a million dollars, I’ll put up with you.”

A rapid burst of typing echoed through the call, then Cody’s voice came back. “I just sent you the code, the data, every bit of evidence. Check your email.”

He couldn’t help but show off. “You know, I thought this would be easy. But when I tracked the guy, I realized he was actually pretty skilled. But hey, I’m even better. I just used—”

“Hello? Are you listening? I’m literally giving you my secrets here.”

After a long silence, Stephen finally replied. “Yeah, I’m listening. Just checked my email. Everything’s there. Thanks.” He hung up without another word.

Cody was left hanging, all proud and excited to share his victory, only to get ignored again.

Cindy stepped out of the hotel, looking everywhere for Rebecca but coming up empty. “Hey, have you seen Rebecca? I just ran upstairs to change and now she’s gone.”

Stephen’s face was still cold. He nodded toward the bamboo grove nearby. “She’s over there.”

Cindy squinted in that direction. Her eyesight was sharp, and she immediately spotted Rebecca with a man beside her.

Cindy’s mind went into overdrive. She tugged at her brother’s sleeve. “Why are you just standing there? Your rival literally came to your doorstep. Aren’t you going to do something?”

Stephen didn’t move, his expression unreadable.

Cindy almost lost it. “Seriously, what is going on with you? Are you into Rebecca or not? You’re my brother, but it doesn’t mean I’m automatically on your side. If you don’t feel anything for her, stop giving her hope. If you do, then just say it already.”

Men. Every one of them is the same. They can’t let go of their exes but still mess with other people’s feelings, dropping hints just to confuse you.
