Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 359

Talk about things coming full circle.

Paul had been out of town for work ever since that massive argument with his parents. His dad basically banished him, saying he wasn’t allowed to come home until he made something of the regional branch. Luckily, Paul was more than capable. He worked nonstop, day and night, until the branch finally started to turn a profit. Now, he could finally come back, head held high, and maybe get to see the one person he’d been thinking about constantly.

He barely stepped off the plane before Morris called him up. “Paul, Bruce is getting engaged the day after tomorrow and I’m throwing his bachelor party tonight. You have to come, no excuses!” Morris texted him the address right after, like that was the end of it.

Paul had no choice but to go along. He figured he’d stop by and visit the Harper family tomorrow. But fate had other plans. Out of nowhere, he ran into Rebecca before he even got the chance.

He hurried over, a smile tugging at his lips before he could stop it. “Hey, long time no see. Here for dinner with friends?”

Rebecca nodded politely. “I’m here with my mom.”

“Your mom’s here too? I haven’t seen her in ages. Mind if I go over and say hi?”

Paul remembered from his last visit that Samantha was always very warm toward him. She was his best shot at getting closer to Rebecca, so he jumped at the chance to make a good impression. But Rebecca was having none of it.

“Sorry, it’s not a good time,” she said, her tone clear and firm.

Her rejection was so blunt it threw him off for a second, but he quickly covered it with a smile. “It’s just a hello.”
