Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 435

Bruce tugged at his collar, frustration written all over his face. “I know Hailey’s never liked me. For years, she’s been making things difficult for me and Mom, always finding ways to block me from joining the company. Now she’s buying software from NovaStack Cloud’s rival on purpose, just to make me look bad and rub it in my face.”

His anger made his eyes red. “Dad, I’m honestly so fed up. We’re both your kids, so why does she get to do whatever she wants at Lamont Inc. while I’m not even allowed through the front door? Fine. If I can’t join the company, I’ll work hard and prove myself to Grandpa some other way. But now she’s purposely going with another supplier because of me. Once people find out, they’ll laugh at me. They’ll say the Lamont family’s son is treated worse than a stranger.”

Even after letting it all out, Bruce’s breathing was rough, his chest rising and falling as he tried to calm down.

Hector listened to his son in silence. Deep down, he knew he had let Kelley and Bruce down. For all these years, thanks to Cooper and the pressure from the Lamont elders, he hadn’t managed to be fair. He’d focused so much on his daughter that he’d forgotten his son needed his support too.

A long, weary sigh escaped Hector.

Finally, he spoke. “I know you’ve been holding a grudge for years. But this time, you’ve got Hailey wrong. She’s not doing this just to spite you. The day of the engagement, your grandfather said we had to get Rebecca’s agreement, whatever it took. He promised her anything she wanted. That day, Rebecca asked that Lamont Inc. choose Sunforge Tech first if we ever needed new software.”

Bruce’s eyes went wide. He looked like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

Hector fixed his son with a steady look. “If you want to blame anyone, blame Sonja. If she hadn’t stirred up trouble at the engagement party, none of this would have happened. I did promise you we’d consider NovaStack Cloud first, but we owe Rebecca for her help. This time, just let it go. If it happens again, I’ll make sure Hailey puts your company first.”

Bruce sat back on the sofa, pressing his lips together. He didn’t say anything else. With his eyes closed, he suddenly felt ridiculous for fighting with Hailey earlier.

“I get it. Thank you… Mr. Lamont.”

He started to get up, but Hector’s voice stopped him, sounding almost regretful.
