Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 752

Ariana was unaware of what had transpired with her youngest son.

At the moment, she was in the villa. Her daughter had already fallen into a sweet slumber, and as Ariana gazed at the child’s serene profile, her eyes softened with a mother’s tender affection. Yet, when her thoughts inadvertently drifted to Carson, a flicker of frustration crossed her mind.

“Mom,” Kevin called out as he pushed the door open and entered.

He blinked playfully at Ariana.

Lambert was still at the office, tying up loose ends from the day’s work, so aside from the household staff, only Ariana and her three children remained in the villa.

Ariana smiled at her second son. “What is it?”

Kevin beamed and handed her a cup. “You’ve been taking care of Gracie—you must be tired. I brought you some water.” Of course, he hadn’t poured it himself. He’d wanted to, but the housekeeper, worried he might spill it, had done it for him. Reluctantly, Kevin had agreed.

Ariana raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile tugging at her lips. “Oh? Did you pour this for me? I’m touched—thank you.”

Kevin’s face lit up even more.

Ariana patted the spot beside her, and Kevin eagerly took the invitation, settling in next to her. His eyes bright with anticipation, he asked, “Mom, when are you going to bring Carson back?” He was clever enough to sense that someone as gentle as his mother wouldn’t truly abandon his brother. Besides, even if that twin could be annoyingly foolish at times, he was still family. Kevin couldn’t help but ask.

Ariana gently ruffled his hair and replied softly, “In a little while, once he’s learned to behave better.”

Kevin nodded with an exaggerated seriousness, mimicking a proper grown-up. "Mm, little brother really does need to behave better."

His earnest, pint-sized adult act immediately amused Ariana. She scooped her second son onto her lap. Kevin let out a little gasp of surprise, his small arms instinctively wrapping around her neck. His wide eyes sparkled with a mix of curiosity and delight.

Ariana looked into his excited eyes, and her own smile deepened.

But after just a moment, Kevin began to squirm gently.

Ariana raised a questioning brow. "What's wrong?"

"Mommy isn't feeling well," Kevin declared with serious gravity. "You should put me down." Though he loved being held like this, the thought of his mother's health made him reluctant to stay, however much he wanted to.

Whether it was her son's unexpected maturity that touched her, Ariana's hands stilled for a heartbeat. Then, she gently kissed his small forehead. "It's alright," she whispered softly. "Mommy is all better now."

Ariana remembered a saying: 'Any child who acts sensible and obedient has experienced neglect.' Because a truly cherished child doesn't need to be so sensible.

Just like Carson and Kevin.

Because Carson was the youngest and also the most demanding, Ariana's attention naturally fell on him most of the time. With her second son, his overly obedient behavior made her feel at ease subconsciously, leading her to overlook him a little. Not completely, of course—they were both her children. But when several children are together, the most sensible one inevitably receives fewer gazes.

The thought sent a faint, sharp pang through Ariana's heart.

Perhaps she really wasn't a good enough mother.

She hadn't managed to care for any of her children fully.

Ariana sighed inwardly, then said to her second son, "I'm sorry, Kevin. Mommy neglected you before. Can you forgive me?"

Meanwhile, Carson had no idea that his adorable twin brother was secretly plotting against him.

After what he saw as Sheryl's 'betrayal,' Carson had cried himself to sleep. He woke the next morning to find his eyes swollen and puffy. The maid who came to attend to him was horrified and wanted to report it to the family matriarch immediately, but Carson stopped her. He wasn't entirely sure why his eyes were so swollen, but he was afraid that if his great-grandmother saw them, she would make him stay home instead of letting him go to kindergarten.

He was really looking forward to going to kindergarten.

He thought to himself: Once Mom comes to pick up Second Brother, he’d apologize to her right away. Then surely he could go back to her side. Mom… Mom would definitely forgive him.

And if she didn’t? Well, he’d just cry and cry until she gave in. That always seemed to work.

Holding onto that hope, Carson eagerly hopped into the driver’s car, already imagining how soon he’d get to kindergarten.

He also planned to ask Second Brother whether Mom was still angry lately.

The house helper couldn’t talk him out of it, so in the end, Carson was allowed to go. The moment they arrived, he dashed into the kindergarten at top speed. Bursting into the classroom, his eyes immediately found his second brother, and he rushed straight toward him.

Kevin had been quietly sitting and reading, looking quite content—until Carson suddenly appeared beside him.

He was taken aback.

Ever since Carson started giving him the cold shoulder out of frustration, he hadn’t spoken a word to him. So what brought him over today?
