"I am simply fulfilling my duties as a designer. I will not revise the draft. I trust my professional capabilities, and I trust Julian's taste."
"If you think this gift is inappropriate, you can simply forbid your precious sister from wearing it at the gala."
Gideon's face darkened at her venomous tone.
"Do you really have to speak to me like this?"
Planting his hands on the desk, he leaned down, closing the gap between them as he tried to read the emotions swirling in her eyes.
"Nora, I've been trying my best to have a decent conversation with you lately."
"Then how would you like me to speak?"
Refusing to back down, Nora held his gaze. Her clear eyes were heavily bloodshot, and her voice was terrifyingly calm.
"Do you want me to act like Giselle? The second something doesn't go my way, should I cry to you with red-rimmed eyes, whining for you to fight my battles? Should I hide behind your back while I watch you push innocent people off a cliff?"
"Nora!"
Gideon roared, slicing right through her sentence.
A violent storm instantly gathered in his eyes, his expression turning terrifyingly thunderous.
He couldn't understand it. No matter what they talked about, why did Nora have to be so damn stubborn? Why did she have to drag Giselle into everything, using such a mutually destructive method to provoke him?
"Must you tie absolutely everything back to Giselle?"
Gripping the edge of the desk, Gideon glared down at her, his chest heaving with rapid breaths. "She was trying on dresses at the estate today. She hasn't provoked you at all. Can you dial back the hostility and resentment for just one second?"
Staring back fearlessly, Nora curled her lips into a mocking smirk, continuing her venomous assault.
Dropping those words, Gideon gave her one last, profound look before spinning on his heel and storming out of the study.
The sound of his footsteps faded down the hall.
Nora stood alone by the desk. That hysterical confrontation had drained nearly every last ounce of her strength.
Her legs gave out, and she collapsed weakly back into her chair. Covering her face with her hands, she gasped for air.
If Gideon thought these edges would sting Giselle's skin, then she was absolutely going to keep every single jagged angle.
She didn't need Gideon's concern.
And she sure as hell wasn't revising this draft.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Love I Begged For Was Never Real
Storyline is good..but author is wasting time on character's thoughts.why r u streching chapters it's really really boring and annoying.conversation between them childish.she is only saying him get out n what right do u have ..not telling him what he did to her not questioning him..demanding answer. And what happened to him why sudden change of heart care to explain author.....
For the past few chapters either she is sick or he is. It is slightly boring. Author pls let them talk about the issues , she is not at all scolding him.. every scoldings are playing in her mind only. We want some talk between them....
I am also thinking the same....
Has he mistaken Nora as Giselle?...
What happened to him🤔 did he forget everything?...
Hey can u also upload the book " woke up married to my cheating ex"....
Does he know the orphan girl is actually Nora?...
So is he trying to justify everything? At wat rite??? Wer were he wen she needed him the most.......
Haha finally going to see redemption...
I don’t think reborn will happen in this novel. It will be full of her blood only. Actually The title should be changed to only Nora’s suffering instead the love I begged was never real....
