Back at the office, Rebecca wrapped up her work and called Justin over. “Cindy and I are heading to Northgate for the next three days. You’re in charge of the Meridian Tech project while I’m gone.”

Justin immediately put his hands together in a mock salute. “Don’t worry, boss, I’ve got this! Safe travels!”

After lunch, Rebecca and Cindy made their way to the airport. In the elevator, Rebecca’s eye started to twitch as she noticed the two giant suitcases trailing behind Cindy. She had to ask, even though she tried to keep it casual. “Planning to turn this trip into a vacation?” Honestly, who brings that much luggage for just three days?

Cindy just blinked. “No, it’s all for work.”

Rebecca could only laugh to herself. Classic rich girl move.

At the airport, Rebecca was about to line up for security when Cindy pulled her aside. Rebecca looked up and saw they were heading to the first class security lane. Cindy barely batted an eye. “I had admin upgrade your economy ticket to first class.”

Rebecca just stared at her.

Cindy grinned, “Relax, it’s within company policy. Senior management can fly first class. As for me, I paid out of pocket.”

Of course she did. Rebecca was already getting used to Cindy’s style.

They breezed through security in five minutes and still had more than forty minutes before boarding, so they headed to the lounge. Rebecca felt exhausted. She’d been up late studying every night, then waking up early for work. Coffee had become her lifeline; she often needed three cups just to get through the day.

She went to grab some coffee and when she came back, Cindy was nowhere to be seen. Rebecca checked her phone and saw a message: [Saving my bladder!]

Rebecca laughed and started scrolling on her phone. Not even two minutes passed before someone sat down beside her. Thinking it was Cindy, Rebecca picked up the coffee she’d grabbed and handed it over. “I got this for you.”
