Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 145

She remembered seeing Rebecca and Cindy traveling together for work, but she always thought they were just regular coworkers. It never crossed her mind that Cindy would actually take Rebecca’s side like this. In just a short time, the two of them had gotten so close, almost like best friends. So did that mean Stephen was in on it too?

Lately, Sonja had tried every trick she could think of to get Stephen’s attention. She wanted to warn him about Rebecca’s non-compete agreement with NovaStack Cloud, but nothing seemed to work. She even tried going through mutual friends, dropping hints and passing messages, but Stephen never responded.

Now, after hearing what Cindy said, it seemed like Duncan Corporation was ready to go all out to protect Rebecca. That was fine. Even if Duncan Corporation helped her, Sonja had her own way to ruin Rebecca’s reputation in the industry. As soon as she won the arbitration, she’d spread the story far and wide. Who would want to work with someone who broke their word? Sooner or later, Stephen would have to fire her.

Just thinking about it made Sonja smile. She linked her arm with Bruce’s and said, “Bruce, since Ms. Harper isn’t interested in our offer, there’s no point in keeping trying to convince her.” Then she gave Rebecca a look full of challenge. “Sorry, but we won’t be going easy on you in there.”

Rebecca just smiled coldly. “The game isn’t over yet. You might be surprised by how it ends.”

Sonja’s eyebrow arched, and she didn’t bother to reply. She just looked at Rebecca with a hint of pity, as if to say, You’re still putting on a brave face when you’re about to lose. How sad.

Cindy kept close to Rebecca as they got into the elevator together. Once the doors closed and they were alone, Cindy leaned in and whispered, “Are you really sure about all this?”

Rebecca gave her a confident smile and lifted the file folder in her hand. “Relax. I’ve got everything we need to turn this around.”

Cindy still looked worried. “It seems like they already talked to a lawyer. Losing money is one thing, but I’m more afraid of what this could do to your reputation.”

The arbitrator started by reading NovaStack Cloud’s complaint. “According to the non-compete and confidentiality agreements Ms. Harper signed when she joined, she’s not allowed to work for a competing company after leaving. We have enough evidence to prove she joined our competitor Sunforge Tech. Based on this, we require that Ms. Harper resign from Sunforge Tech immediately and pays three million in damages.”

As soon as he finished, Sonja stood and handed over the evidence to the arbitrator. There was a smile on her lips as she spoke. “This is Ms. Harper’s employment contract with Sunforge Tech, along with the consulting agreement she signed before officially leaving NovaStack Cloud.”

She shot Rebecca a smug look, clearly proud of the evidence.

The moment was like a thunderclap in the room. Cindy’s eyes went wide with shock. For a few seconds, she just stood there frozen, then she suddenly burst out, “How did you even get Rebecca’s contract with Sunforge Tech? That’s theft!”
