Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 152

“You…” Lottie stomped her foot, her voice rising. “See? This is what I have to deal with! She always treats me like this!”

Samantha reached out, gently pulling Rebecca back. “Rebecca, can you please just talk things through?”

Rebecca took a steadying breath. “Mom, do you even know what she did?”

“She knew I was in the middle of that lawsuit with NovaStack Cloud, but she went behind my back, took my documents, and copied them for the other side to use as evidence. She tried to set me up, and now she’s turning it around to make herself look like the victim.”

Samantha froze in place, completely blindsided.

Hand pressed to her chest, she looked toward the doorway. “Lottie, is that true?”

Lottie’s eyes darted wildly, never meeting Samantha’s gaze.

“She’s making it up. None of that’s true. She’s just trying to blame me.”

That shaky denial sent a chill through Samantha’s heart.

She’d known Lottie hadn’t been as close since moving back in with the Bernans, and she’d seen her picking up some questionable habits. There were times when Lottie’s words slipped with jealousy for people with money, complaints about the Harper family, and the occasional dig at Rebecca. But Samantha always thought it was just a phase, something Lottie would eventually outgrow. Like any rebellious teen, she’d come around and realize who really cared for her.

But she never expected this. She never thought the day would come when Lottie would actually betray her.

Rebecca felt bad for her mother whose face went so pale and defeated.

But a clean break was better than letting things drag on.

If Lottie wasn’t really on their side, then maybe it was time for her mom to see it clearly and move on.

With that in mind, Rebecca pulled out her phone, her lips curving in a cold little smile.

“I was away for three days on a business trip. Here’s the surveillance from my bedroom during that time. You say I’m lying? Then please, tell everyone who this is, trying on my dresses and sneaking my files out to copy.”

Her words hit Lottie like a bucket of ice water. She went stiff, her blood running cold.

“You… you put a camera in your room? You were spying on me?” Lottie spat, furious.

Rebecca just looked at her. “It’s my bedroom. That’s called protecting myself, not spying.”

With the evidence right there, Lottie had nothing left to say.

Her face kept shifting from white to red. Suddenly, she rushed to Samantha and grabbed her hand, sobbing.

Samantha’s eyes shimmered with tears. “You’ve been through too much, sweetie. I wish you’d told me sooner.”

Rebecca shook her head. “It’s not too late. It’s over now. We can start fresh.”

Lugging her bag back to the Bernan family’s house, Lottie walked in to find Aliyah lounging on the couch with a face mask on.

As soon as Aliyah saw Lottie’s red, puffy cheeks, she let out a laugh.

“Well, well. Did someone catch you in the act?”

Lottie’s temper flared, but she knew better than to pick a fight with Aliyah, not with how much their parents liked her. She tried to brush past and head upstairs, but Aliyah stepped right in front of her.

Aliyah grinned. “If I were you, I’d start worrying about my reputation. Wouldn’t want Lewis to break off the engagement.”

Break off the engagement? What was she talking about?

Lottie looked up, confused.

Aliyah’s grin only grew wider, and with that mask on she looked straight out of a nightmare. “Oh, you really don’t know, do you?”
