Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 165

“Who knows? It’s driving me crazy.” Sonja flopped onto her bed, restless and annoyed.

She’d thought that after Bruce broke up with Rebecca, he’d confess his feelings and propose right away. But he hadn’t said a word. Instead, he’d ended up in the hospital after drinking too much.

Sonja couldn’t help but wonder if Bruce still had feelings for Rebecca. Maybe his love for her was a lot deeper than she’d realized. Maybe even deeper than Bruce himself understood.

Her eyes narrowed as she thought about it.

No way. She had to make her move before Bruce changed his mind.

Avery came over and gave her hand a gentle pat. “Relax. If you can marry him before the company goes public, perfect. If not, you can always have him sign the stock transfer papers after the wedding. I believe in you. You’ll figure it out.”

Sonja closed her eyes for a moment and nodded. “Yeah.”

The morning of her graduate entrance exams, Rebecca was at home, eating the breakfast her mom had cooked, when Cindy’s video call popped up.

Rebecca answered with a smile.

“Hey, Rebecca! Good luck on your exam today! I know you’re going to ace it.”

Rebecca took a bite of the fried dough and egg her mom had made just for her. “Thanks, Cindy.”

“How many days does the exam last?” Cindy asked.

“Two.”

“What time do you finish tomorrow?”

“About five in the afternoon.”

“Awesome. I’ll pick you up and take you out for a huge meal to celebrate.”

Rebecca couldn’t help but laugh. “It’s just the test, not the acceptance letter.”

Cindy shot her a look. “Come on, it’s not like we’re paying for it. Free food is free food.”

“Huh?” Rebecca blinked, confused. Then Cindy flipped the camera and there was a familiar, calm figure in the background.

“Hey, Stephen, say something to wish Rebecca luck! And remember, you’re buying dinner tomorrow.”

Stephen was still in pajamas, his hair soft and a little messy. He didn’t look like a serious professional at all, more like a college kid who’d just been dragged out of bed.

Rebecca was worried about traffic, so she left the car at home and rode her bike to the exam center.

She’d just parked when she spotted Judy stepping out of a car nearby.

“Rebecca!”

“Judy.” Rebecca smiled, then nodded at Paul.

“Let’s head in,” she said.

“Wait, Rebecca, I have something for you.” Judy grinned and turned to Paul. “Come on, give it to her.”

Paul pulled a purple handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to Rebecca with both hands.

What was this?

Paul smiled shyly. “It’s for good luck. You know, superstition. Purple means you’ll pass.”

Rebecca stared, stunned.
