Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 322

“Rebecca, were you serious just now? Are you really going after Alan for child support?” Cindy blinked at her, eyes wide.

Rebecca shrugged. “I wanted to him just leave me alone, you know? I figured we could go our separate ways and never bother each other again. But he just keeps pushing. He’s messed with me and my mom over and over, even landed her in the hospital, and now he’s trash-talking her, saying she didn’t raise me right. If words don’t get through to him, then maybe it’s time to hit him where it really hurts. Sometimes people don’t get it until there are real consequences.”

“Exactly! That’s the only way to handle people like him,” Cindy jumped in, totally fired up. “I heard Alan only makes a dollar a year at Campbell Group. The Campbells don’t trust him at all. So if he can’t pay up, he’ll end up humiliated, probably begging you for forgiveness. Promise me you won’t forgive him then.”

Rebecca’s lips curled into a cold smile. Forgive him? Not a chance.

Cindy leaned in, lowering her voice. “So, are you going straight to court, or are you getting a lawyer?”

“I should get a lawyer, but I’m not in a rush. I want to finish this bid first,” Rebecca said.

“No way, I can’t stand him for another second,” Cindy insisted. “Listen, I know a great lawyer. She’s a top divorce attorney at Coralbridge. I’ll send you her info later.”

Jon chimed in, curious. “Wait, who is this? Is it a guy or a girl? Since when do you know lawyers?”

Cindy rolled her eyes. “There’s so much about my life you don’t know.”

Jon gave her a look but let it go.

As they headed toward the Skyline Capital meeting room, Cindy hung back and sent a quick message to her brother.

[Hey, this is your moment,] she typed.

Stephen replied, confused. [What’s up?]
