Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 323

He let out a low grunt, casting an annoyed glance at Rebecca. “Honestly, you’re even more thoughtful and well-behaved than my own daughter.”

Sonja dropped her gaze, a gentle smile curving her lips. “I feel the same. My father passed away when I was little, so in my heart, you’ve always been like a real dad to me.”

The two of them kept pouring on the father-daughter affection, totally oblivious to everyone else in the lounge. Cindy could barely keep from gagging.

Under the table, Jon’s big hand found hers and gave her fingers a squeeze. “If you’re about to be sick, I can walk you to the restroom. I’m feeling pretty nauseous myself.”

Sonja and Alan’s faces stiffened in an instant, but they couldn’t say anything back. Jon hadn’t called out anyone by name, and if they jumped in, it would only make them look guilty.

Out of everyone, Cindy was the most shocked.

Seriously? Jon, who always acted so proper and unbothered, was now openly mocking people and calling them disgusting?

Was the world upside down or what?

Or maybe… Cindy swallowed, sneaking a peek at Jon.

Was he really doing this for her?

No way. Jon was never that considerate of her.

“So, are you coming?” Jon was already standing, looking down at her with those steady eyes.

Cindy hesitated, not sure if he was joking or actually serious.

“Come on.” Jon wrapped his hand around hers and gently led her out of her seat.

“But… what if Bryce shows up while I’m gone?” Cindy asked nervously.

“Don’t worry. We’ve got it covered. I can handle Bryce if he comes,” Rebecca said with a reassuring smile.

Sonja’s eyes flashed with anger, but she forced a smile as she turned to Rebecca.

“Rebecca, you’re not mad that Alan’s helping me instead of you, are you? I mean, you’re his real daughter, but the way you treat him…” She let her words trail off, biting her lip.
