The guys in the booth were nothing but trouble, grinning like they owned the place. One of them snickered, “So, who are you supposed to be? Working for one of the clubs? Tell us your name, we’ll call your boss for you. Hahaha!”
Cindy felt her heart thudding in her chest. She was seriously starting to panic and kicking herself for being so reckless. Now she was stuck, and Rebecca was caught up in it too. Glaring at Morris, she spat out, “Morris, shouldn’t you be home taking care of your kid instead of drinking here? You’re about to be a dad. Maybe try acting like one.”
Morris choked on his drink, coughing so hard his face turned red. He slammed his hand down on the table. “What the hell are you talking about? What kid, what dad? Don’t think I’ll just let you off easy because you’re the Duncan family’s daughter. This isn’t Coralbridge, you know. The Duncans can’t save you here.”
Cindy just sneered to herself. Clearly, Morris had no idea Lottie was pregnant with his child. Idiot. She tossed her hair back and looked at him like he was completely clueless. “Honestly, Morris, sometimes I almost feel bad for you. You are getting played by two women at once.”
He swore under his breath, veins standing out on his forehead. “What are you getting at?” He had a feeling Cindy was hinting at something, but he couldn’t quite figure it out.
Cindy saw the opening and didn’t hesitate. “Let me, Rebecca, and that girl go. I’ll tell you everything.”
Morris leaned back on the sofa, legs stretched out on the glass table, staring at her in silence. For a moment, nobody said a word. Then he let out a snort. “You’re bluffing, Cindy. If you don’t want to talk, fine. I’m not interested.”
He waved to his guys, basically telling them to do whatever they wanted. He wasn’t going to stop them.
Cindy clenched her jaw and spoke clearly. “Morris, you really don’t know if you slept with Lottie or not?”
The smirk dropped right off his face. His eyes went cold, locking on her.
Lottie...
He hadn’t seen her since that night at the hot spring hotel. He figured she was too embarrassed to ever show up again. Maybe he was wrong. Now, thinking about what Cindy said about a kid, his mind was spinning.

The ending seems abrupt. Is it like a cliffhanger? I was expecting more. A lot of questions are unanswered....
Why is the story tagged as complete when I think the chapters are incomplete and it hasn’t ended yet?...
Can't wait for the next update! 😍...
Honestly, Rebecca's mother needs to be called out for pettiness. At the same time, Rebecca needs to explain her work situation to her mother....
