Her gaze flickered as she shot back her own offer. “Thirty million. Give me thirty million and I’ll say yes.”

Madison practically choked. “You... you’re insatiable. How can you even ask for thirty million?”

Twenty million was all the liquid cash Madison had access to. Anything more and she’d have to start selling off assets, and if her husband noticed, she’d be in real trouble. Given her awkward status in the Terry family, she wasn’t about to risk that.

She rested her hand on her belly and smiled. “Well, then we’re done here. You can head home. Come back when you’re ready to talk numbers. If we keep going like this, your grandkid might just start kicking in protest.”

Before she could spit out another word, the door flew open with a loud crash.

Madison stared for a few seconds, stunned, before she found her voice. “Morris, what are you doing here?”

Lottie’s face went white. Instinctively, she shrank behind Madison. The last time she’d seen Morris was after that one-night stand, when he’d figured out her plan and made sure to humiliate her right there in bed.
