Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 373

Paul tried to reassure her. “Don’t worry, your mom’s going to be fine. Sonja’s upstairs in the dressing room. I’ll take you to her.”

“Alright,” Rebecca said.

Morris, fuming, stomped after them. “Paul, you’re just going to believe her? We grew up with Sonja. Seriously, you’d trust some outsider over your own friend? There’s no way Sonja would ever do something like kidnapping. She’s lying, obviously!”

Rebecca stopped and turned around, a cold smirk on her lips. “How about a bet, Morris?”

He blinked. “What?”

She shrugged. “Let’s bet on whether my mom is actually in this hotel. If she is, I win. If she isn’t, you win. Whoever loses has to kneel and apologize. Deal?”

Morris snorted. “Why would I bet with you? What kind of scheme are you cooking up this time?”

Rebecca rolled her eyes. “If you know nothing, then just keep your mouth shut. You’re giving me a headache.”

“You—” Morris was left speechless. By the time he snapped out of it, Rebecca and Paul were already at the stairs to the second floor. He clenched his jaw and hurried after them. He’s sure Rebecca planned to drag Sonja’s name through the mud more this time.

Rebecca and Sonja never got along. Why would he suddenly want to see her? She must be too embarrassed to admit she came here for me. She’s just making up an excuse.

Bruce took a steadying breath. “Let’s talk in the reception room next door.”

Rebecca just shot him a look, done with the small talk. “Bruce, listen up. Your fiancée, Sonja, is suspected of kidnapping my mom. If she doesn’t come clean and let her go, I’m calling the cops. They’ll search this place from top to bottom. It’s your engagement day. If the police show up and take your fiancée away, you’ll have a hard time explaining that to the Lamont family.”

Bruce cared more than anything about what the Lamonts thought. All he ever wanted was to be accepted by them.
