Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 375

As soon as they stepped inside, Rebecca saw her mom sitting on the living room sofa. There was a spread of fruit and snacks on the coffee table in front of her.

“Mom!” Rebecca rushed over and wrapped Samantha in a hug. “Are you okay? Did they hurt you?”

Samantha shook her head, her eyes a little red. “I’m fine. What about you? You must have been worried when you couldn’t find me.”

“I’m okay too. Now that I know you’re safe, I can finally breathe,” Rebecca said, her voice soft with relief.

Sonja walked in, heels clicking against the floor and a bright smile on her face. “See, I told you I wasn’t lying. I served your mother snacks. How is that kidnapping? I just invited your mom over as a guest, Rebecca. You’re blowing this way out of proportion.”

Morris jumped in, pointing at Rebecca. “Exactly. Sonja’s way too kind to ever do something like that. You’re just making a big deal out of nothing to make her look bad.”

Sonja’s eyes flickered, and she put on a wounded expression, turning to Morris. “Don’t blame my sister. There’s just been a misunderstanding. I get why she’d think that about me.”

Morris shook his head. “Sonja, you’re honestly too good for your own good.”

Bruce, seeing Samantha was unharmed, finally relaxed. He fiddled with his tie, trying to settle his nerves. “I’m glad everything’s cleared up.”

He bowed his head politely to Samantha. “Since you’re already here, why don’t you and Rebecca stay?”

Paul nodded in agreement. “You still look a little pale. How about you rest here for a bit before heading home?”

Paul’s presence made Samantha relax a little. “That sounds like a good idea. We’ll stay.”

Rebecca was hesitant. Staying here meant having to watch Alan and his new family act all close. She glanced at her mom and whispered, “Mom, you don’t have to force yourself. If you’re uncomfortable, I’ll take you home right now.”

Sonja let out a sharp breath. “I just noticed. Paul’s lip is busted, and so is yours. Did you two get into a fight? Who was it for?”

The room went silent.

Bruce opened his mouth, but no words came out. He turned for the door, his voice flat. “I’m going to greet the guests. Finish your makeup and come out soon.”

Sonja started shaking, her anger finally boiling over. “Bruce, answer me. Did you fight with Paul over Rebecca? Are you still not over that bitch?”

He spun around, his whole energy turning icy. “All the guests here today are important. Watch what you say.”

Morris quickly stepped between them, grabbing Sonja’s arm to steer her away. “Sonja, you gotta finish your makeup, remember?”
