Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 411

Before she could get the words out, a sudden pain shot through her calf and she yelped.

Rebecca jumped into action, leaning down as if to check on her. “What’s wrong? Did you get a cramp?”

Cindy bent down too.

Their eyes met under the table. Rebecca gritted her teeth and made an ‘X’ with her fingers. Cindy caught on right away and quickly covered her mouth.

That was close. She’d almost spilled the secret.

The two of them sat up again as if nothing happened, but Judy just blinked at them, looking lost. “Cindy, you were saying Rebecca is already… what?”

Cindy looked up at the ceiling. “Was I? Maybe you’re hearing things. Seriously, so young and already getting ringing in your ears? Poor thing.”

Judy looked completely confused. She finished the meal caught between suspicion and self doubt.

When they left the private room and headed to the entrance, they ran straight into Jon.

Rebecca and Judy greeted him easily.

When it was Cindy’s turn, she froze in embarrassment. She’d just lied to him, after all.

She turned her face away, pretending Jon wasn’t there.

Jon just smiled at her attempt to avoid him.

Rebecca noticed right away that something was off. She guessed Cindy’s bad mood was probably Jon related again.

She nudged Judy and the two of them slipped away, leaving Cindy standing there alone.

By the time Cindy realized what happened and started to walk off, Jon called her back.

He took two movie tickets out of his pocket. “Are you free tonight? There’s a new release getting great reviews. Want to check it out?”

He hesitated, then said, “And… I have something I want to talk to you about.”

Cindy didn’t budge. She looked him in the eye, refused flatly, and said, “I’m busy.”

Sonja’s smile was full of sarcasm. “Wow, here for a movie? Where are all your admirers? No one to keep you company? Must be tough coming out alone.”

Bruce frowned, shooting Sonja a warning look.

Sonja ignored him.

She’d been hiding at home for days because of the rumors online, letting Shawn handle all her work. Eventually, she couldn’t take it anymore and begged Bruce to take her out. He finally agreed, but only if she wore a mask and hat.

Sonja felt bitter. Even though she’d managed to shift the blame to Rebecca, Bruce was still bothered by the gossip and especially by how people looked at him.

After they finished shopping and had dinner, Sonja wasn’t ready to go home yet, so they decided to watch a movie. Running into Rebecca in the elevator had been an unexpected bonus.

Seeing Rebecca alone made Sonja feel oddly satisfied.

She figured all those guys who used to orbit Rebecca would eventually get bored and move on.

Even Paul, who once fought his best friend over Rebecca, ended up choosing his career over her without even thinking twice.
