Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 419

Judy caught her drift right away.

She meant, she’s just going to stay out of it.

Judy clung to her arm, putting on her best puppy-dog eyes. “Rebecca...”

But that trick didn’t work anymore. Rebecca wasn’t falling for it after last time.

The last time Judy secretly let Paul know where Rebecca was, and he came to pick her up after work, Rebecca hunted her down the next day. She told Judy flat-out that if she ever did that again, their friendship was over.

So, Judy just sighed and kept quiet.

Maybe Paul and Rebecca really just weren’t meant to be.

Thinking about it, Judy felt a pang in her own chest. She’d invited Caleb out today too, but he had turned her down right away.

Right then, she understood exactly how Paul felt.

The two of them really were in the same boat.

She picked up the video call, and Paul’s bright laughter filled the room. “Congratulations, my little Judy. You finally graduated. I got you a present, it should get delivered to your place today, so keep an eye out for it.”

Judy’s smile lit up her whole face. “Wow, you’re the best. You know I love you most! So, when are you coming back? It feels like you’ve been away forever this time.”

Paul chuckled. “Soon. I’ll come see you as soon as I get some free time.”

Judy pouted. “Free time, huh? When adults say that, it hardly ever means anything. It’s basically a promise for never.”

Paul laughed again. “You’re an adult too now. Don’t be so dramatic. Hey, who showed up in person for your graduation?”

“Oh, no one really,” Judy said, her eyes darting away for a second.

She knew she couldn’t give him any more hope. The more he hoped, the harder he’d fall.

Just then, her hand shook a little and the camera tilted. Rebecca’s back appeared in the frame, clear as day.

Paul’s eyes changed, his voice got lower. “Is she okay?”

Judy realized he'd spotted Rebecca.
