Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 427

Rebecca glanced at Brett and nodded. “I don’t mind giving up the office. I just think that since this involves me, I should’ve been informed. Don’t you agree?”

Brett lowered his eyes, studying the girl in front of him, the one who always seemed to have some kind of mysterious connection to Stephen. People always talked about her competence, but he hadn’t expected her to be this beautiful. He hadn’t really looked at her that day in Stephen’s office, but now that he could see her clearly, she took his breath away.

He looked away, barely hiding a small smirk, and said to Marissa, “From now on, don’t make decisions without my approval.”

Marissa’s face froze. She never thought Brett would take Rebecca’s side. Joan had always said Brett would spoil her completely.

“Yes, of course. It won’t happen again,” she promised quickly. But when she turned to Rebecca, she still looked down her nose at her like she owned the place.

As soon as Brett left, Marissa pulled out her phone and messaged Joan.

[She’s nowhere near as pretty as you. Don’t worry, she’s got nothing on you.]

Cindy was always late. Walking past the CEO’s office, she pushed the door open out of habit. “Rebecca, this weekend, did you—”

She stopped mid-sentence when she saw Brett at the desk instead.

Her eyes went wide. “Brett?”

Brett nodded toward his computer. “I’m in a remote meeting,” he said, his voice calm.

Cindy quickly closed the door and hurried into the little side office. She found Rebecca sitting there, totally unbothered. Cindy clenched her teeth.

“Seriously? He’s even after your office now?”

Rebecca stood up and tried to reassure her. “It’s fine. He’s the boss at Sunforge Tech now. It makes sense for him to have the biggest office.”

Cindy poked her in the forehead. “You’re way too easygoing about this!”

Rebecca shrugged. “What can I do? He’s your cousin. I’m just trying to keep the peace.”

Rebecca hesitated. “Mr. Duncan, I mean... does Brett know about this?”

Liam smiled. “Don’t worry. My boss has it covered.”

Rebecca sighed. She knew Stephen was only trying to help, but she didn’t want this to come between the brothers.

After Liam left, Rebecca called Stephen’s office.

Before she could say anything, Stephen cut in. “I know what you’re going to say. Don’t worry. I’ve got it under control.”

Rebecca let out a helpless sigh. “Stephen...”

Stephen leaned back in his chair, one leg crossed over the other. He looked sharp and intimidating, but his voice was gentle. “Come on. Trust me on this.”

Rebecca could only give in. “Alright.”
