Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 432

Richie lowered his lashes, concealing the emotion in his eyes, and gave a gentle smile. “Thanks, Dad.”

As soon as Jon left the Garfield house, he didn’t waste a second. He headed straight to the Duncan family’s villa.

When he reached the door, the butler greeted him with a warm smile. “Mr. Garfield, good evening. I’ll let Mrs. Duncan know you’re here.”

Jon, still catching his breath, waved his hand. “No need for that. I’ll just go in.”

The butler watched him rush inside, a little puzzled. Was something big going on? Jon was always so calm and put together. He’d never seen him in such a hurry. Tonight was definitely different.

Before Jon even made it to the living room, he heard Chelsey asking the housekeeper how long the chicken soup had been cooking and when it would be ready to serve.

Chelsey turned and spotted Jon in the doorway. She smiled and waved him in. “Jon, you’re just in time. Come in. We made chicken soup tonight, so you lucked out.”

Jon pressed his lips together, glancing around the room. Cindy was nowhere to be seen.

He sounded a little nervous. “Aunt Chelsey, is Cindy home?”

Chelsey smiled and pointed upstairs. “She came back tonight. She’s in her room. Are you looking for her…”

Before she could finish, Jon was already halfway up the stairs, taking them two at a time.

Chelsey looked surprised, then couldn’t help but laugh. “He’s always so proper and polite. What’s gotten into him tonight? I bet Cindy’s starting to rub off on him.”

Upstairs, Cindy was deep into her game when a knock interrupted her focus.

She frowned. Was her brother back? No, that couldn’t be right. He hadn’t come home for days, preferring his own place lately.

Annoyed, she raked her fingers through her hair. “Who is it?”

A low voice came from behind the door. “Cindy, it’s me.”

She froze for a second, then realized it was Jon.

With a reluctant sigh, she exited her game.

Cindy didn’t buy it. “You always listen to your mom. You even moved away to make her more comfortable in the Garfield family.”

“Now your dad and brother have this plan and they’re using your mom to get to me. Shouldn’t you be all for it?”

That thought made her frown. She sat up straighter, her voice turning colder. “You didn’t come here tonight to talk me into agreeing, did you?”

“No!”

“Then what do you want?”

Jon took a deep breath, pulled a few documents from his pocket, and set them in front of her.

Cindy stared at them in confusion. “What is this supposed to mean?”

Jon drew another shaky breath. “Cindy, let’s get married.”

Cindy just sat there, completely stunned.
