She let out a long sigh, her eyes softening for a moment.

“The Campbell family has their own businesses,” Bruce said, his eyes sharp. “Why are you so hung up on NovaStack Cloud?”

Sonja laughed, tossing her head back. “The Campbell family isn’t what it used to be. Ever since my mom took over, profits have fallen every year. We’ve sold off a ton of assets. The Campbell Group looks fancy on the outside, but it’s falling apart inside. To keep it going, we need more money and a fresh start.”

She sighed again. “Don’t blame me, Bruce. I was born into the Campbell name, so I have to do my part to keep the family standing. That’s what being a Campbell daughter means.”

She looked at him, her voice calm. “Go home and get some rest. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of NovaStack Cloud. When it goes public, you can have the president’s seat back. I’ll just take my share of the profits. You love running things, and I just want the money. We’ll stay out of each other’s way.”
