Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 447

Bruce could try all he wanted to get attention, but Stephen would never give him a second thought. Deep down, he was sure Rebecca would never go back.

When Rebecca finally woke up, she had no clue what time it was. All she knew was that it was pitch-black outside, almost eerily so.

“Awake?” A deep voice rumbled above her.

She felt her cheeks warm. “Why didn’t you wake me? Isn’t it really late?”

Stephen just smiled. “It’s not that late.”

Rebecca checked her phone and almost laughed. It was nearly ten. Not late, huh.

She looked over at Liam in the driver’s seat, her voice apologetic. “Sorry, Liam. I kept you from getting off work.”

Liam grinned. “It’s all good. I get paid overtime for this. Boss’ orders. Triple pay.”

Rebecca grabbed her umbrella and stepped out of the car. Stephen was about to walk her upstairs, but she gently stopped him, her hand on his.

“You don’t have to walk me up. It’s late. Go home and get some rest. Goodnight.”

She almost gave him a goodnight kiss, but with Liam sitting right there, she lost her nerve.

Outside, the rain kept falling, quiet and steady. The streetlights glowed weakly, their light shattered by the falling rain.

Rebecca felt lighter than she had in ages. That nap had done wonders, and it was like the weight on her chest had finally eased up.

She walked toward her apartment building, steps light and quick, but stopped short at the gate. Someone stood there. The shape was all too familiar.

Rebecca froze.

Hearing her footsteps, Bruce spun around.
