Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 452

She acted like she hadn’t felt a thing, keeping her head down and following the bank president’s assistant out the door.

Marissa shot a glare through the glass at Rebecca, muttering under her breath, “Look at her, all full of herself now.”

Still fuming, Marissa marched over to Brett. “Mr. Duncan, you’re the head of Sunforge Tech now. Whether or not you had an appointment, Timothy should have met you first. Instead, he stuck to the rules and insisted on seeing Rebecca. Honestly, I think we’re better off dropping Coralbridge Bank altogether.”

Brett looked up at her, eyes full of disbelief, as if he couldn’t believe what he’d just heard.

It didn’t matter that she was Joan’s cousin. He wasn’t about to let that nonsense slide.

Coralbridge was the biggest commercial bank in town. Businesses were practically fighting over themselves just for a chance to work with them. A partnership like that brought in tens of millions every year. And she was talking about ending it, just like that?

He took a slow breath, struggling to keep his cool. “If you actually have a brain, now’s a good time to use it.”

Marissa just stood there, stunned. It took her a few seconds to realize he’d just insulted her, plain and simple.

Furious, she hurled her folder onto the floor, gritting her teeth. Brett, who do you think you are? Around my cousin, you’re nothing but a pathetic simp.

Meanwhile, in the president’s office, Timothy took off his reading glasses as Rebecca walked in and gestured for her to sit. “Rebecca, have a seat.”

After some small talk, Rebecca gave him a rundown on how the project was going.

Timothy listened intently, nodding along. “With you on this, I’m at ease. You’re responsible and reliable. I have complete faith in you.”

Rebecca felt a little warmth in her chest at his words. “Thank you for believing in me. As long as I’m here, I’ll make sure everything goes smoothly. The project will launch on time, I promise.”
