Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 455

“No, Sonja, don’t open it.” Avery clung to her daughter, tears spilling down her cheeks.

Sonja stared at her, completely lost. “Mom, what’s going on?”

Avery squeezed her eyes shut, feeling the world spin out of control. “This is karma. All of it. It’s karma coming back for us.”

“Mom, you’re not making any sense.” Sonja pried away Avery’s arms, turned to the laptop, and clicked open the email that was lighting up the screen.

The message glared back at her.

“Sonja, if you’re reading this, then you’ve already hit rock bottom. Honestly, you’re lucky. You’ve gotten to enjoy so much happiness that was never meant to be yours. I could have ended you outright, but I didn’t. The best revenge is letting someone fall from the highest hope straight into the deepest pit. Do you remember Emily? Maybe you’ve forgotten her name, but I never will. She was the light in my darkest days, who saved me when I had nothing. She was an angel. But right when we were happiest, her depression came back, and she… she ended it all. The truth your family buried finally saw the light of day.

“I swore I’d make you pay. So I got close to you, earned your trust, and set my plan in motion. At first, I just wanted to expose you, show the world who you really are. But I underestimated how powerful money can be. No matter how many times I tried, you and the Campbell family always walked away untouched. So I switched tactics. Instead of just putting out fires, I decided to burn everything to the ground. Only by destroying the Campbell family could I trap you in a hell you can never escape. Sonja, sit back and enjoy the show I made just for you. I promise, you’re going to love it.”

Sonja stared at the screen, then crumpled to the floor as the words sank in.

Suddenly, she let out a wild, bitter cackle. All of this, every single thing, was Shawn’s trap. The person she trusted most, the only one she thought would never betray her, had been the one to stab her in the back.

It was so ridiculous she almost wanted to keep laughing forever.

But the laughter twisted into a burning rage.

Sonja’s eyes blazed. “Mom, I’m going to find Shawn. I’ll make him pay for this!”

Avery clung to her daughter, sobbing harder. It was too late. If Shawn had managed to slip away unharmed, it meant he’d had his escape plan ready for a long time. There was no way they could catch him now.

“Let it go. This is just fate. As long as we’re together, we can start over one day.”

At Sunforge Tech, it was time for the weekly meeting. The conference room was just a few floors down. Rebecca and Cindy rode the elevator together, Cindy glued to her phone and buzzing with the latest gossip.

“Did you hear about the Campbell family? They went bankrupt. The house got repossessed to cover their debts. And get this—your scumbag dad got wind of everything and skipped town with all the money.”

Rebecca could only stare. She’d been so wrapped up in her own battles with Brett lately that the outside world felt a million miles away.

Now, hearing about NovaStack Cloud’s bankruptcy and the Campbell family’s fall, she couldn’t help feeling a wave of sadness.

And she wondered—where was Shawn now?

It had been so long since she’d heard anything about him.

She scrolled through her contacts, searching for his name.
