Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 515

The next day at work, Rebecca was in the conference room with Jon’s team, going over the local rollout of their AI project. Ever since that tech competition, Sunforge Tech’s AI product had been getting a ton of attention. Clients were lining up to get on the waitlist.

Suddenly, Brett burst into the room. The door slammed open and everyone just stopped, looking toward the doorway, confused. Rebecca glanced up too, locking eyes with Brett. His expression was all business. Her stomach dropped. She had a bad feeling about this. He was definitely here for her.

Brett waved a hand. “Everyone out. Rebecca, you stay.”

Jon gave Rebecca a worried look, but she managed a quick smile to reassure him. Once everyone else had filed out, it was just the two of them.

Rebecca arched an eyebrow. “Mr. Duncan, is there something you need?”

Brett’s face was stone cold as he tossed a folder onto the table. Rebecca picked it up and flipped it open. It was a complaint letter. The project manager from Coralbridge Bank was accusing her of not handling an issue properly, acting dismissive, and even losing her temper with the client.

Rebecca only read a couple lines before snapping the folder shut. “Mr. Duncan, this isn’t true. I’m not taking the blame for something I didn’t do.”

Brett’s tone got sharper. “So, you think the client is lying? That they’re framing you?” He scoffed. “Rebecca, don’t let your ego get the best of you.”

She wasn’t the least bit rattled. Rebecca pulled out her phone. “I’ll just call the Coralbridge Bank project manager right now. I’d love to hear exactly where I supposedly dropped the ball or lost my temper.”

Brett frowned. “You’re questioning the client? Now you’re questioning me too? Tell me, Rebecca, who’s giving you all this confidence? Stephen? You can’t get away with whatever you want around here just because you have a private relationship with him.”
