Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 531

Stephen pulled her a little closer, holding her soft body against his. It felt so good to have her in his arms again, like he’d finally come home after a long trip.

“Is it all sorted?” Her voice was muffled against his chest, quiet and warm.

“Yeah, it’s all done,” he said.

“Alright then.”

Rebecca didn’t ask for details and didn’t push for more. She trusted him completely. If Stephen said it was handled, that was enough for her.

After a while, she nudged him, her cheeks turning pink as she gave his waist a gentle pinch. “We should get in the car. There are too many people around.”

Stephen brushed his hand over her hair, smiling. “Alright.”

He walked over to the passenger side, opened the door, and waited for her to get in. Then, always careful, he leaned in to buckle her seatbelt before heading back to the driver’s seat.

Just as he settled in, Rebecca’s phone buzzed on the center console.

Stephen glanced over. The screen lit up with a message. [Done with class? First day back must be exhausting.]

He raised an eyebrow and looked at Rebecca. “You’ve got a message.”

Rebecca grabbed her phone, looking a little embarrassed. She hadn’t expected Aaron to text her right at that moment.

She typed out a quick, half-hearted reply and then flipped her phone over, hiding the screen in her palm.

Stephen watched her, his eyes narrowing with a hint of jealousy. “Who are you talking to?”

She scratched her head, looking awkward. “Just that guy... you know, from the blind date mix-up.”

“Oh, the blind date,” Stephen repeated, dragging out the words.

Stephen turned and kissed the corner of her mouth. “Take me to meet your mom. I want her to see I’m way better than that blind date guy.”

Rebecca’s eyes sparkled as she smiled at him.

So that’s what this was about. He was jealous. No wonder he’d stopped the car and lost his cool.

She nodded, whispering, “My mom knows we’re together, but after what happened with Joan, she thought we broke up. That’s why she set me up with the neighbor’s nephew.”

Then she told him everything about the awkward blind date.

Stephen pinched her nose, still pouting a little. “Tell him it’s over, delete his number, and get ready. Next week, I’m officially coming to meet your mom.”

Rebecca grinned. “Deal. I’ll break the news to my mom first.”
