Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 536

Stephen rubbed his temples and let out a quiet, “Yeah.” He kept his voice low as he asked, “What about Sunforge Tech?”

His grandfather had been sitting there, still wrapped up in the sadness of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren leaving soon. The question snapped him right out of it, and his mood soured in an instant.

“Hmph. You really can’t wait, can you?”

Stephen sighed, “Grandpa, the company’s basically falling apart. No one’s in charge. It’s a mess, and we’re about to lose some of our biggest clients to competitors. How do you expect me to stay calm?”

“Don’t try to make it sound like it’s all about the company. You’re worried about her, aren’t you?”

“Grandpa, what are you talking about? I honestly have no idea.”

“Don’t play dumb with me. Just tell me the truth. What’s really going on between you and Rebecca?”

Stephen raised his eyebrows, a little amused. “Didn’t you have her investigated? Didn’t they tell you anything?”

His grandfather bristled, clearly getting more worked up. “Are you and Rebecca dating? I’m warning you, I don’t approve. After everything that happened with Joan, you should know better by now.”

Stephen’s lips curled in the faintest smile. “What should I know? You really think they’re the same? Who I date and who I want to marry… that’s none of anyone’s business except mine.”

George jabbed his cane against the floor in frustration. “All you ever do is get under my skin.”

He let out a heavy sigh, trying to steady himself. “Sunforge Tech has huge potential. I’m thinking about sending someone from the board over to personally keep things in check. What do you think about that?”

Stephen went quiet for a moment, eyes narrowing thoughtfully. “Sounds good to me. Go for it.”

“Are you serious?”

“Of course.”
