Shawn was at a loss for words. “I… you…”
Rebecca cut him off, her tone sharp and impatient. “Stop with the ‘I’ and ‘you’ already. Just tell your assistant to book me a ticket too.”
Her voice was quick, tinged with annoyance and urgency. Without thinking, Shawn called his assistant back. “Book another ticket for me.”
Then it hit him—Rebecca didn’t have any ID. He frowned. “She doesn’t have a passport. Figure something out.”
He hung up before his assistant could even start to complain.
Rebecca gave a satisfied nod. That was more like it.
But now Shawn had another problem on his hands. He crouched down so he was eye level with her, his gaze serious. “When I found you, I didn’t check. Do you have any way to contact your family?”
Rebecca shook her head. “No. I looked this morning. Nothing.”
She couldn’t help feeling frustrated. How did she even end up here with nothing at all? Did she lose everything when she jumped, or did she just leave it all behind? Either way, it made her realize how reckless she’d been. She let out a sigh and promised herself she’d never be so impulsive again. Next time, she’d stay calm. Really calm.
Shawn pressed his lips together. He didn’t know how to reach her family, either. He could ask his uncle for help, but his flight was in the afternoon. There was no time to wait for news, and he didn’t want to risk leaving Rebecca behind alone.
After thinking it over, Shawn decided to just bring Rebecca to London. They would figure things out once they got there.
By the time their plane landed in London, night had already fallen. The air was damp and cold, nothing like the island. As soon as they stepped outside, Rebecca shivered.
Shawn immediately slipped off his coat and wrapped it around her shoulders. “Wear this. You’re still recovering.”
Rebecca blinked, a gentle warmth spreading through her chest. He could actually be pretty caring.
A taxi pulled up. Shawn loaded the wheelchair in first, then gently helped Rebecca into the back seat. The driver glanced at them in the rearview mirror, a grin on his face.
“You two just back from vacation? Was it nice? Must have been beautiful, right?”
Rebecca couldn’t help but laugh. “It was a little island, but honestly, I didn’t pay much attention to the view. We had a fight, and I landed in the hospital for two days.”

The ending seems abrupt. Is it like a cliffhanger? I was expecting more. A lot of questions are unanswered....
Why is the story tagged as complete when I think the chapters are incomplete and it hasn’t ended yet?...
